1991 Eagle Talon 2.0 L DOHC.  This engine is the middle of the road when it comes to performance.  The whimpy engine is the 1.8L SOHC (single over head cam), then the 2.0L DOHC (duel overhead cam), and the superfast car has the 2.0L DOHC and a Turbo.  Some came with All Wheel drive.  AWD.  Those were the rocket ships.

 

Problem areas:

 

Coolant in the oil, so there is a warped head or possibly cracked head.  They can be bought remanufactured for $300.00 or if repairable, much less.

 

There is some damage to the rear, in the licence plate area, it can be fixed with some pulling, no big deal.

 

The engine will run but it has been run without coolent and has overheated, possible injector damage.  Still doable.

 

Some of the interior is showing its age, the headliner is falling in and some of the plastic needs paint.  Again, fixable with some paint and glue if one is so inclined.

 

Radiator is cracked and will need to be replaced.

 

Good areas:

 

No rust or extensive body damage, paint is in very good condition for a 12 yr old car.

 

Tires are very new.

 

Seats are not stained and with a good shampoo, they and the carpets will look very nice.

 

It runs and turns over and will idle.

 

Its a 5 speed and not automatic.
